Bead 12, also known as 12 Guti, Baro Guti, 12 Tehni, and 12 Kaati, is a classic board game played by two players with 12 pieces on each side.

Bead 12: A 2 Player Game is highly popular in the South Asian region, particularly in South India and Bangladesh. It is sometimes referred to as the 24 Guti game since a total of 24 beads are used by both players.

In this game, each player has 12 beads on a 5x5 square board. The players take turns until one player runs out of beads, and the player with more beads wins the game.

How to Play 12 Beads (Bara Tehni) Game

A 12 Guti game board consists of a 5x5 square board with a total of 24 positions where the beads/soldiers can be placed. Each player has 12 pawns or soldiers for this multiplayer game.

Players choose their favorite color and which side of the board they want to play on.

The game can begin by randomly choosing a player to take the first turn or by a coin toss. In each turn, a player can either make a move or capture, but not both. A player can only move one of their pawns to an empty adjacent spot in a straight line.

If a player wants to capture (eat) an opponent's bead, they can do so if there is an empty spot just beyond the opponent's bead in the same line. The leap must be in a straight line following the lines on the board.

The captured bead is removed from the board. Players take turns until one player captures all of the opponent's beads. The player who achieves this wins the 12 bead game.
